Understanding and Preventing Violence

WHO: Police, Fire, EMS, and Military Personnel

WHEN: April 7, 2025

WHERE: Kansas City Police Department Regional Academy

WHAT: 8 POST credit hours. This course addresses why there is more violence in today's society, explains verbal and non-verbal indicators of violence, demonstrations how to identify concealed weapons, and provides de-escalation techniques. This course is based on the internationally popular Gray Ram Tactical course often taught at national and international conferences.

Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC)

WHO: Police, Fire, EMS, and Military Personnel

WHEN: April 8, 2025

WHERE: Kansas City Police Department Regional Academy

WHAT: 8 POST credit hours. This course is a combination of lecture formatted training and practical hands-on training scenarios. Participants will learn how to medically treat trauma related to combat style situations, and heavy emphasis is place on the use of tourniquets, chest seals, and hemostatic dressings.

COST: $275

Advanced Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (ATECC)

WHO: Police, Fire, EMS, and Military Personnel

WHEN: April 9, 2025

WHERE: Kansas City Police Department Regional Academy

WHAT: 8 POST credit hours. This course is a continuation of the basic TECC course and primarily incorporates practical hands-on training scenarios. Participants will learn how to medically treat trauma related to combat style situations, and heavy emphasis is place on the use of tourniquets, chest seals, and hemostatic dressings in simulated real-world exercises.

Police Drill Instructor School

WHO: Police Personnel

WHEN: April 14-17, 2025

WHERE: Kansas City Police Department Regional Academy

WHAT: 40 POST credit hours. This course is a combination of lecture based training and practical scenarios. Officers will learn the difference between a police instructor and a police drill instructor. Officers will be taught there are numerous legal liabilities associated with being a police drill instructor and methods to reduce and mitigate these and other issues. This intensive course is the equivalent of a military Basic Training Drill Instructor School.

Basic Executive Protection School

WHO: Police and Military Personnel

WHEN: June 2-5, 2025

WHERE: Kansas City Police Department Regional Academy

WHAT: 40 POST credit hours. This course covers the principles and practices of executive protection. Participants will learn about threat assessment, protective tactics, and security planning. The training includes practical exercises and simulations to develop essential skills for ensuring the safety of high-profile individuals. This certified course prepares attendees to conduct dignitary protection duties at all levels.

Interview & Interrogation Techniques

WHO: Police and Military Personnel

WHEN: September 17, 2025

WHERE: Kansas City Police Department Regional Academy

WHAT: 8 POST credit hours. This course covers the best practices for conducting interviews and interrogations. Attendees will be taught various techniques used to elicit information from both suspects and witnesses. This course is for every officer, not just detectives. 

COST: $375


Law Enforcement Leadership for Modern Communities

WHO: Police and Military Personnel

WHEN: December 9, 2025

WHERE: Kansas City Police Department Regional Academy

WHAT: 8 POST credit hours. This course details the various types of leadership and how they apply to law enforcement officers within their own communities. Numerous subjects are examined and equally apply to patrol officers to chiefs.
